Pandemic pedagogy

Moving online changed quite a bit about the way we work during class. In every circumstance possible, we moved to doing rather than telling/listening. In Comics + Zines class, students’ homework is to process through making mini-zines each week and then reading and discussing everyone else’s; students can choose to make their work public in our Tumblr archive as well.
Doing not telling is true for me, too—I’ve tried to find ways to make arguments or suggest ideas through making and printing curated zines to hand back for students to read, to see their work in a different, collaborative context.
